BIOGRAPHY:
Fritz Hoffman, an Ohio native,
received a BFA from Ohio State in graphic design and later studied at the
Columbus College of Art and Design. He also studied watercolor with John
Pike, the prominent Woodstock, NY artist who was in turn a pupil of Richard
Miller.
Fritz was a founding member and past
president of the Columbus Watercolor Society and also a board member of the Ohio
Watercolor Society. He exhibited in both Societies annual shows and in
national exhibitions in which he won many major awards. Although he was a
Columbus, Ohio painter he worked extensively in Maine and excelled at harbor
scenes and views of the Maine coast. His body of work spans a 50 year
period and his paintings are found in collections throughout the East and
Midwest.
